God, Give Me Strength.
For those whose hearts have been bared to the point of brokenness.

Do you have a go-to-prayer? That desperate moment of your thoughts fleeing and only a few words choke out of your mouth? It’s as if this prayer is the only thing you can utter right now.
I have one.
“God, give me strength.”
This prayer has been my go-to prayer.
When I have so much on my plate, and I wonder if I will be able to do all of these things asked of me.
“God, give me strength.”
On days, when I felt like if I blink for one moment, if I let down my guard for one second, the burden on my shoulders will come tumbling down, and the weight would crush me to the brink of tears, this has been my prayer.
“God, give me strength.”
In moments when work has been fun, but recently, duty has replaced delight, and when deadlines come rushing in, giving you no time to breathe, this has been my prayer,
“God, give me strength.”
When three to four meetings in one week, lasting late into the night, to worrying what the next day will bring, and my thoughts have been wrestling with me, forcing me to stay awake, this has been my prayer.
“God, give me strength.”
The beauty of this prayer is not the carefully placed words in it, but it shows the desperate cry of the heart, especially when the thought of giving up has become more real.
“God, give me strength.”
The captivating part of this prayer is its rawness, when there is no time to fancy up your prayer to make it sound more elegant. This prayer is for those whose heart has been bared, almost to the point of brokenness, where one can only say,
“God, give me strength.”
This prayer is one where we can lock in our rooms and pray. But in most times, this prayer is exhaled in between seconds and in-between moments. When you’re juggling all of these responsibilities and expectations around you, this prayer will somehow build its way in your heart and force its way out of your lips.
Your body and soul comes crashing into each other when uttering this prayer, as raw, as real, and as simple as it can get.
“God, give me strength.”
