I hope if you choose a lifetime partner, I pray you’ll choose one who’ll make the waiting time easy. They’ll roll their eyes at the sight of a long queue, and you’d make inside jokes in the time of waiting. They’d sigh with frustration at the announcement of a delayed flight, then hold your hand and give you a reassuring smile. The waiting becomes less painful, and something you look forward to, because it’s in the waiting wherein you form the inside jokes, wherein you dig deep in each other’s quirks and stories. They’d put down their phone and ask the most random of questions, point at the most random of subjects, and talk about the most random of things. With them, waiting is never waiting.

If the day comes you have to live with a person you choose to love and hurt, I hope you’ll choose a someone who chooses to be vulnerable, even if it terrifies the crap out of them. They’ll hold your hand and look you in the eye, as they face the past demons that have come to haunt them in the random actions that you do. I hope that when the time comes, you’ll stand with them. You won’t give up as easy. Hold their hand, gripping it tightly. You’ll look them in the eye, with courage and honesty, that their demons will have no choice but to wave…
